What is Liver Cirrhosis?
Liver cirrhosis is a chronic condition in which healthy liver tissue is gradually replaced by scar tissue, impairing liver function. It can lead to serious complications if untreated.

Common Causes

  • Chronic alcohol consumption

  • Viral hepatitis (Hepatitis B or C)

  • Fatty liver disease

  • Autoimmune liver disorders

  • Long-term exposure to toxins or certain medications

Jaundice

What is Jaundice?
Jaundice is a condition marked by yellowing of the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes due to elevated bilirubin levels in the blood. It can occur suddenly (acute) or persist over time (chronic), affecting overall health and digestion.

Common Causes

  • Viral hepatitis (A, B, or C)

  • Liver or gallbladder disorders

  • Hemolytic anemia

  • Excess alcohol consumption

  • Certain medications or toxins

Acute Jaundice

Sudden yellowing of skin and eyes

Dark urine and pale stools (appearing quickly)

Nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain

Loss of appetite

Chronic Jaundice

Persistent yellowing of skin and eyes

Gradual weight loss and fatigue

Persistent itching (pruritus)
